Happy Dance Worthy Snack: Crispy Maitake Mushrooms with Seaweed Salt (Furikake)
Nurse's favorite snacking mushroom is maitake
As a novice nurse, I’ve researched books about eating unprocessed in 2024; I’ve made food diaries to track my eating habits and how my body responds to what I eat. There is good processing and bad processing. Good processing is intended to make foods palatable. Bad processing contains chemicals not helpful to the body. I will share the book recommendation below. It has chapters upon chapters on how to eat to avoid bad food processing. I will also summarize the tips here.
Mushrooms are known to have some anti-inflammatory properties. When prepared in a simple manner, it can be delectable, meaty, and well-flavored. My favorite snacking mushroom is maitake. I prepare the maitake mushroom with Italian olive oil, salt, and seaweed seasoning. Like mushrooms, seaweed is another ingredient that reduces inflammation in the body at the cellular level. See the recipe below.
